John P. Valente, III

As the founder of The Valente Law Group, John P. Valente III focuses his practice on medical malpractice, auto accidents and personal injury.

John has successfully handled numerous complex medical malpractice, fire explosion, and wrongful death and survival action cases, resulting in multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for our clients.

For example, John has obtained a 5.2 million dollar verdict in Prince George’s County, Maryland, for a client who sustained a ureteral injury during a hysterectomy. This verdict was one of the largest verdicts for a ureteral injury in the United States. John also obtained a 3.5 million dollar verdict for a client who sustained a bowel injury during a hysterectomy due to medical negligence of a physician. The verdict was the largest verdict ever obtained in Calvert County history.

John further represents clients in an abundance of injury claims stemming from truck, motorcycle and automobile accidents, as well as claims stemming from injuries sustained in fires and fire explosions and slip/trip and fall accidents. In fact, John obtained a verdict for a client against Safeway in a trip and fall accident in the amount of 1.62 million dollars.

For many years, John has been recognized in the legal community as one of the top trial lawyers in his field in Maryland and the Metropolitan Area. John is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. This invitation-only membership is widely considered the highest honor bestowed on a trial lawyer and is limited to no more than 1% of the trial lawyers in any state or province. John is also an elected member of the select American Board of Trial Advocates. John further has an Avvo “Superb” rating, has been named The National Trial Lawyer’s Top 100, and has been deemed a “Super Lawyer” in Maryland since 2012.
